FRESH

FRESH is a printmaking exhibition held at ArtD. It was organized during Southern Graphics Council International Conference which was held in St. Louis this year. It was a great turn out for all of Cherokee Street!

Local Artists through Art Dimensions St. Louis traveled abroad to create in Indonesia. It will be an annual opportunity through ArtD! The following event features a "Rare exhibition in the Midwest featuring leading artists from Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta.

Remarks by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Chicago

The Consulate General of Indonesia of Chicago are proudly to welcome “US Artists Study Abroad 2011” program as a continuation of “St Louis Artists Study Abroad 2010″ organized by Art Dimension in collaboration with the Indonesian Consulate General in Chicago.

The delegation of eleven American artists were participated in the 2010 Study Abroad Program and visited many beautiful places in Indonesia for two weeks to get inspirations on Indonesia’s cultures. Their artworks had been displayed at the Blanco Renaissances Museum in Ubud, Bali and the National Museum in Jakarta along with the artworks of Indonesian famous artist, Mario Blanco. Beside the artworks, the American artists have learned the batik making at the Textile Museum in Jakarta. The Consulate General of Indonesia in Chicago has been working closely with St. Louis Artists and Art Dimensions on arranging and creating the various cultural events to promote the cultural exchanges and friendship between the Republic of Indonesia and the United States of America. I really appreciate the support and collaboration between St. Louis Artists, Art Dimensions and the Indonesian Consulate. It is an important contribution on strengthening and improving the bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United States.

VLP is about to celebrate our one year anniversary! We can't believe how fast this year went and how many amazing clients we had an opportunity to meet and work with. We want to thank each and every one of you and invite you to our one year anniversary party; Elephant!

We call it Elephant because of the great trades we have planned. We would love if anyone who is interested to bring vintage, unique, hand made, art and/or fashionable items in great condition to trade for other guests fabulous items. It's a great way to update your wardrobe, record collection, walls, kitchen, etc in the greenest way possible. Bring anything you want, trade with anyone you want! We will have tables set up for you to put your treasures but anything that doesn't trade must go home with you.

If trading is not your thing, no worries. We have many other things in store for you...

The talented Travis Lawrence will be hand printing limited edition elephant prints on the spot as well as some unique valentines day cards. With every purchase you will be entered to win on of Travis' prints! That's pretty awesome! Erik Ohrn, an amazing painter, will have his paintings for sale as well.

DJ Surge Protecta will be mixing some tunes for us to dance too and Chef Jonathan Kraft will be providing us with some tasty treats.

Blue Bird Denim will be there for all your custom denim needs as well as Eve's Apple Vintage. Stop by each of these ladies booths to find the perfect partner for your new trade item. Nothing beats a pair of BBD jeans, they are amazing! Eve's Apple always has beautiful and unique vintage pieces to mix and match into your wardrobe.

It wouldn't be a VLP party without some photography, so make sure to stop by our photo booth to have your picture snapped with all your new goods and art pieces!

All the fun starts on February 5th at 8pm and ends at 1am inside of the Art Dimension's Gallery at 2720 Cherokee. While coming in or grabbing drinks from the bar, definitely check out Messy and the Jiverson's and the Floozie's in the club downstairs, 2720.

Down State

We had the privledge of doing live photography for Down State, a local reggae-rock band, and it was a blast. They had a great show with lots of fans cheering them on! Enjoy!

Family Fun!

Greg, Karen, Caitlin, & Lauren were so much fun during the shoot. They let me move furniture, a fabulous old trunk, candlesticks, all out into snow for some creative portraits. Caitlin even helped me with the staging! Although it was cold, they were troopers and laughed and had fun together. I look forward to our next shoot.
